The Hard Road

SOME OF THIS BLOG IS FROM THE UPCOMING BOOK, “THE WORSHIP PROBLEM” BY B. DAVID STEVENS:

To do something different means to be scrutinized! Many are afraid to discover God’s plan for themselves because the masses overwhelm their decision-making. Fear paralyses us and sometimes forces us to go against what we truly believe. Experiencing God doesn’t occur authentically causing many to take on the experiences of others. It is difficult for us to develop a real relationship with God because we are walking out someone else’s relationship.

When we walk out someone else’s relationship or decide to just do what everyone else is doing, we limit the potential that God placed in us. You were never made to be like everyone else. You are unique in every way and so is your purpose (i.e. how God made you to glorify Him).

This is a “hard” road to travel because it’s not a common road. It’s easy to just blend in, unnoticed in order to be left alone. That’s not what you were created for! Walk out into the unknown with God. Don’t be afraid. I honestly think that in this place is where we find true relationship with Him.

Don’t die trying to be like the masses. It’s not worth it. Travel the road that many forsake in order to be accepted and loved. I don’t want to live my life trying to gain the approval of others. I want to truly live for an audience of One. Is that you too?!
