The new year always brings new resolutions and decisions with good intentions. But rarely do people follow through. Maybe its because we’re being too complicated. Maybe if we started small, we could make more progress.

Recently, I attended a communications seminar and was challenged to name one thing I will START, one thing I will STOP, and one thing I will CONTINUE. I”ll be vulnerable and let you know what I chose:

I’m going to START scheduling a consistent time in my week just to be creative. I’m going to STOP taking it personally when someone does not like my ideas. I’m going to CONTINUE building relationships that energize me and encourage me to move forward.

Now that you know, you can hold me accountable.

It’s just that simple. That’s what I’m going to do right now. As I do these things and complete some of them, I will add more things. I’m not going to be overwhelmed by all of the things I want to do, need to do, or have to do.

So… What are you going to START, STOP, and CONTINUE?
